He showed good speed that day before getting outrun late by Heal And Soul. Oswald Noach steps into the saddle and if finding the form of that outing, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

TRIPPING THUNDER showed good speed over this C&D last time before getting caught late by Circumbendibus. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Trippi. Should the top selection fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CHASINGTHERAINBOW showed very good improvement when 1.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 2

FUTURE TURN ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. He raced from a handy position that day, but found one too good in the form of Promettere. He has won once, finished second twice and third twice from ten starts over this C&D. The son of Futura is likely to race on the speed and he may be hard to peg back.

HAT’S PRIDE finished 0.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

FRENCH FLAME may not have seen out the 1800m in the Grade 3 City Of Cape Town Politician Stakes last time. He drops back in Class and from pole position, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

RICH FOLKS HOAX made up a lot of ground when 1.9 lengths behind KEBONALASEDI last time. The son of Danon Platina has cracked pole position which could make a massive difference. Craig Zackey knows him well and he should notch up his second-career victory.

KEBONALESEDI set the pace and fought back well over this C&D last time. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Pomodoro is in a good space and can follow up.

ICONIC DESTINATION has shown good improvement in his last two starts over 1400m on this course. He steps back up to 1600m and from his good draw of four, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 4

GROOVEJET is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 2000m on this course. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He has won over this distance previously. The son of Silvano is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and he will be doing his best work at the finish.

KWITE A KING finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today which should be enough for the tables to be turned. However, GROOVEJET won easier than the official margin suggests and he may still have the upper hand.

GENTLEMAN JOE stayed on when third over 1600m last time. The 6yo gelding is in a good space and with luck in running, he should be involved at the finish.

 

 

Race 5

INDUSTRIALSTRENGTH should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be switched for running room at the 250m mark. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He has cracked a good draw of two and with luck in running, he should be the one to beat.

FAMILY POWER was caught late when second over 1600m last time. She won her penultimate outing over this distance. The daughter of Louis The King is in a good space and she should give the males a run for their money.

SWIATEK has finished second in her last three starts over this distance. She finished 0.75 lengths behind the second choice, three runs ago. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around from her wide draw.

Race 6

UN BEL DI showed good speed over 1200m on this course last time before getting outrun late. He has won once and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Aldo Domeyer takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

BLUFF ON BLUFF won a good race over 1100m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

ALL ABOUT AL finished 2.95 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 7

TOUGH TERRAIN finished 0.6 lengths behind GOLDEN DESTINY last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

GOLDEN DESTINY ran on from last when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.

FORT RED finished 2.5 lengths behind SOOTY last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today. Three of his seven career victories have come over this C&D. The 7yo gelding would not be a shock winner.

Race 8

ARCTIC WIZARD has good recent form lines to his credit. He showed good speed over this C&D last time, before getting caught late by Gem King. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of What A Winter has ability and may be the one to side with.

ROSH KEDESH stayed on when fourth over 1400m last time. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Vercingetorix is one of the leading contenders.

TENANGO was an easy winner of his last start over 1000m on this course. His record over this distance is a slight concern, but he is in a good space and cannot be ignored
