His penultimate run when third over this C&D catches the eye. He is a horse with ability and if not in need of the run, he should be the one to beat.
SURGE OF POWER stayed on when fourth in the Grade 3 Langerman last time. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. The son of Potala Palace will be mowing down the frontrunners at the finish.
RATTLESNAKE followed up his maiden victory with a good third-place finish over 1000m. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has scope and should be competitive.
Race 2
ARISTOTLE raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of All Out For Six who has come out and won again since. He returns from a 12-week break which may have done him the world of good. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should go close to winning.
STATED was his own worst enemy over this C&D last time, but stayed on to finish second. If Sean Veale is able to switch him off early, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
JOUEUR DE FLUTE stayed on when fourth over 1200m last time. The son of Rafeef will love the rise to 1400m. He is a progressive type and from his good draw of three, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 3
PENTOLINA was unlucky not to have won her last start as she was carried inwards at the 250m mark. The daughter of One World will love the step up to the mile. She meets the right field and with luck in running, she should be the one to beat.
INDEBE MAYIBUYE finished 3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. She would have come on from the run and should strip a much fitter horse.
LADY SPRINGFIELD was in need of her debut effort over 1200m. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have come on from the run and should love the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected, she can finish in the placings.
Race 4
MAI SENSATION produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she was unbalanced at the 300m mark. The daughter of Rafeef would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
PRETTY PRECIOUS is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit. She returns from a 17-week break which would have done her the world of good. If not in need of this outing, she should pose a threat to the top choice.
LITTLE SUZIE is an unraced daughter of Trippi from the Justin Snaith stable with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle. Her mother, Oh Susanna was a Grade 1 winner. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
Race 5
CAPTAIN WEST has produced two good efforts to date. He raced from just off the pace over 1200m last time before getting outrun late. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of One World should be ideally suited to 1100m and in this field, he should be the one to beat.
LUCY ROCKET moved up well over 1000m last time but was caught late. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and should give the males a run for their money.
MANEKI NEKO finished 0.2 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.
Race 6
SWIFT ACTION was running on when second over this C&D last time. He has won once, finished second three times and third twice from ten starts over this C&D. The son of Red Ray always gives of his best and he can notch up his fourth-career victory.
MAJOR APOLLO showed good speed when winning his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He finished 2.75 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
PALO QUEEN finished 0.4 lengths behind SHE’S MY CAPTAIN last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 7
WUGUG should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was cramped for galloping room in the latter stages. She has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and she should strip much fitter. With luck in running, she can return to winning ways.
GO LIKE FLO has good consistent form lines to her credit. She has won once, finished second three times and third once from six starts over this C&D. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
MONT LOISIR ran a fair race in his post maiden effort over this C&D. If not in need of this outing, he should earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 8
RADICCHIO finished 0.45 lengths behind FLY FUTURA last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Richard Fourie is likely to use his early gate speed to get across from the wide draw and he may be hard to peg back.
MASTER OF PARIS finished 0.4 lengths behind FLY FUTURA in the race referred to above. He is 1kg better off at the weights today. The son of Master Of My Fate has cracked a good draw of two and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
FLY FUTURA has very good consistent form lines to his name. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways.
Race 9
CHARLOTTE BRONTE stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber jumps from a good draw of four and if fit, she should be involved at the finish.
ENGLISH MISTRESS has decent recent form lines to her name. She returns from a 12-week break which may have done her the world of good. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she may be rewarded for consistency.
SANSA STARK raced from a handy position over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish third. With a bit of luck from her wide draw, she should earn another cheque for her patrons
