Race 1

STAR PERFORMER ran a good race when second in his local debut over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of What A Winter would have come on from the run and if seeing out the 1250m, he should be the one to beat.

BIG UNIT showed very good improvement when second in his last start over this C&D. He had to be steadied at the 900m mark that day, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

KAAPSE KLOPSE raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Tenango. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on the son of Rafeef. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 2

LIKETHECLAPPERS won a game race in his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and from his good draw of two, he can follow up.

INCREDIBILL ran a good race when third over 1600m on this course last time. He set the pace that day, but was outrun late. The 5-year-old gelding is having his peak run and he is one of the leading contenders.

KELP FOREST finished 2.8 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. The son of Flower Alley will be staying on at the business end.

Race 3

LICKETY SPLIT challenged strongly in her last start over this C&D, but she found one too good in the form of Coulditbe. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is a progressive type and she can go one better.

ANDI’S GIRL hails from the visiting Mike and Adam Azzie stable. She raced wide around the turn last time, took the lead at the 400m mark before getting caught late. She jumps from a good draw of four and if suited to this course, she should pose a massive threat.

DONNA MO stayed on when second over 1400m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 4

LUCE VERDE followed up his maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He will love the return to the mile. If jumping on terms, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure. SHAVOUT finished 0.1 lengths behind

RULE OF THUMB last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to use his early gate speed to get across from the widest draw and may be hard to peg back.

RULE OF THUMB’S last three starts over this C&D have been good. He runs well for jockey Craig Bantam and with a bit of luck in running, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 5

NATYAM was super-impressive when winning his last start over 1600m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack. He returns from a well-deserved 16-week break. The son of Noble Tune takes a rise in class, but is ahead of the handicapper. He tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can notch up the hat-trick.

MY BESTIE ran a decent race in the Listed Hollywoodbets Settlers Trophy last time. It must be noted that Senso Unico has come out and won again since. He takes a drop-in class and merits healthy respect.

CORONATION TIME challenged strongly in his last start, but found one too good in the form of Mucho Dinero. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from five starts over this distance. He is in a good space and must be included in all bets.

Race 6

MOTHERSHIP followed up her maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over this C&D. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should give the males a run for their money.

TWICE THE MASTER finished 0.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

EXCEEDER finished 2.55 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 7

ONE WAY TRAFFIC finished 0.3 lengths behind SENSO UNICO in his season debut last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times and finished third once from five starts on this course. He would have come on from his last outing and should strip much fitter. If jumping on terms, he should be the one to beat.

SENSO UNICO is a winner of his last two starts on this course. The main concern is that he is yet to feature from three starts over this distance. However, he is in a good space and cannot be ignored.

RUNAWAY SONG was in need of his comeback run in the Grade 3 Hollywoodbets Matchem Stakes. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. He won his only attempt over this distance and should have a say.

Race 8

ALL ABOUT AL’S last three starts have been fair. He had to overcome a wide draw of ten last time and stayed on to finish fifth. The 6yo gelding takes another drop in the ratings. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he is capable of returning to winning ways in this line-up.

SAVANTRIX followed up his maiden win with a good fourth-place finish over 1000m on this course. He was settled at the rear of the field and finished his race off strongly. He is likely to adopt the same tactics and if not too far out of his ground, he should be competitive.

MASKED VIGILANTE stayed on when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck in running, he should run a big race.
