RACE 1
HARAJUKU has produced two decent efforts to date. He was doing his best work late when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Danon Platina will love the rise to the mile and with luck in running, he should be the horse to beat. He is carded to race on 28 June 2023 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
REGAZZO GRANDE showed good improvement in his last start over this distance on the polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
RENOWNED has shown improvement in each of his outings. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Duke Of Marmalade tries the mile and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be competitive
RACE 2
VISION OF WONDER is better than his last start in the Listed Dahlia Plate as he was reported to be coughing. It must be noted that Luna Halo has come out and won again since. The son of Visionaire is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. He is the class horse in the race and should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
FAIRY KNIGHT finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice in the Listed East Cape Nursery. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
HLUHLUWE followed up his maiden victory with a fair fifth-place finish over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The son of Trippi will enjoy the drop to 1200m and he should have a say in the outcome of this contest. He is carded to race on 28 June 2023 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
RACE 3
PAINITE showed very good improvement in his last start over 1900m on the polytrack. He raced from a handy position and despite over racing in the early stages, the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Twice Over tries the 2400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he may be the one to beat.
CATCHUSIFYOUCAN ran on from far back when fifth over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The daughter of Camelot tries the 2400m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should give the males a run for their money.
JACK RYAN finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry- ripe.
RACE 4
HAWK CIRCLE should have finished closer to the winner over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time as he had to be switched for running room at the 400m mark. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The blinkers will be re-fitted and if all went well with his travels, he should go close to winning.
BRIDGERTON ran a good race when second over 1300m on the polytrack last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will enjoy the rise to 1400m. Yuzae Ramzan retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.
MOHANDAS showed good signs of a form return over 1300m on the polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Quasillo tries the turf and if suited to the course, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
RACE 5
SPEED MACHINE was slow into stride over 1200m in the Winter Sprint at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. He is holding his form nicely and if jumping on terms, he can notch up his sixth career victory.
INHERIT THE RAIN has good recent form lines to his credit. He stayed on strongly when second in the Non-Black Type Fairview 1400 last time. It must be noted that Silver Falcon has come out and won again since. The 5yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners.
CASTLETOWN is having his first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. He has won once and finished third twice from five starts over this distance. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and if not in need of the run, he should run a positive race.
Race 6
CLIFF TOP was super-impressive when winning the Non-Black Type Fairview Flying Five last time. He showed good speed, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. He returns from a well- deserved 11-week break. Despite his big mass of 62kgs, he should notch up his sixth career victory.
CRUISE CONTROL finished 4.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He has won three times from four starts over this C&D and merits healthy respect.
STRANGER DANGER returns from a 17-week break. He has won four times, finished second three times and third once from eleven starts over this C&D. He shows good speed in his races and if not in need of the run, he may be hard to peg back.
RACE 7
KWINTA’s LIGHT raced wide around the turn in the Listed WSB Ladies Mile last time and understandably lacked a finish in the straight. She has won twice, finished second four times and third once from nine starts over this distance. She is versatile and may be the one to side with.
PHEDRA won a good race in the Listed Milkwood Stakes last time. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
TIPSY TINA finished 0.5 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
RACE 8
WAITING FOR SUMMER showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1800m on this course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Noble Tune has dropped to a competitive rating and takes a drop-in class. In this field, he is capable of returning to winning ways.
BOURNEMOUTH won a good race in his last start over this distance on the polytrack. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is drawn widest of all, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
THEN IN FOCUS finished 1.35 lengths behind the second-choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line
