SAN PEDRO hails from the visiting Vaughan Marshall stable. He was beaten 3 lengths in the Workriders Vs Jockeys Challenge last time. The son of Vercingetorix tries the 1400m and if suited to the polytrack, he can improve to finish in the placings.

Race 2

LORD EDWARD showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He cast a shoe in running that day which didn’t help his chances. He has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts over this C&D. Rachel Venniker retains the ride and in this field, he can return to winning ways.

SAIPAN has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the form of his last run has been franked. He carries another handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and is one of the leading contenders.

LIFE GOES ON rallied late when fourth over 1000m on the turf last time. He finished 2.2 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 3

MAJORCA PALACE returns from a lengthy 32-week break which would have done him the world of good. He is much better than his last two starts suggest. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from eight starts over this C&D. The 5yo gelding takes a drop-in class and if not in need of the run, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

PURPLE POWAHOUSE is better than his recent form suggests. He returns from a lengthy 32-week break. The 6yo gelding has won three times from eleven starts over this C&D. He jumps from a good draw of two and if fit, he should have a say in weaker company.

ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA was running on when third over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. From pole position, he should have a say.

Race 4

PERFECT APPEAL fought hard in her last start, but found one too good in the form of Our Emily. She has won once, finished second twice and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. She is likely to race on the speed from her good draw of two and may be hard to peg back.

ROYAL OASIS stayed on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She takes a slight drop in class and is one of the leading contenders.

MAGGIE TEE followed up her maiden win with a victory over this C&D. She was given a peach of a ride that day and got up on the line. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 5

CERTAINLY is better than her last start in the Non-Black Type World Pool Invitational. She returns from a 10-week break which would have done her the world of good. Her penultimate run when third in the Non-Black Type Okapi Ladies International was encouraging. She takes a slight drop in class and if suited to the Polytrack, she can return to winning ways.

PRINCESS TEA was not beaten far in the Listed Kwa-Zulu Natal Stakes last time. Her penultimate run when second over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville was encouraging. If this run has not come too soon, she should be one of the leading contenders.

OUR EMILY is a winner of her last three starts over this distance. The daughter of Rafeef takes a step up in class, but she is in a good space and may be up to the task at hand.

Race 6

BOOGIE SHOES may have just needed her last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She won her two previous outings well on this surface. She would have come on from her last run and will love the step up to 2000m. She is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

MY CHERIE AMOUR ran a fair race when taking on male company in her last start over 1700m on this course. Her last victory came off this merit rating. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

EYE CATCHING ran a fair race when sixth over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. It must be noted that Saartjie has come out and won again since. Both her career victories have come on this course and she must be included in all bets.

Race 7

PREDATOR’S FEAST was not disgraced when fifth in the Listed Storm Bird Stakes last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of New Predator takes on older rivals, but she receives her age allowance. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

DOUBLE DREAM should have finished closer last time as she hung in the latter stages. It must be noted that Touch Of Grace has come out and won again since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BIRDWATCHER stayed on when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Her last victory came under 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi and the pair merit healthy respect
