Race 1
ZOOMBOMBER showed good improvement in his last start over this distance at the Vaal. He showed good speed, but was outrun late. The son of Lancaster Bomber is a progressive type and if all went well with his travels, he should be the horse to beat.
FUTURE FLO ran a decent race when third over this C&D last time. He showed good speed and should have finished closer to the winner as he hung in the closing stages. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
KING AND COUNTRY is an unraced son of Quasillo from the Paul Lafferty stable with Muzi Yeni in the saddle. He is related to three-time winner Danse Milord. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.
Race 2
STAR PERFORMER produced a promising debut effort over 1100m on this course. He showed good pace, but was outrun late. The son of What A Winter found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. He would have come on from the outing and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.
ANDY COOGLE finished 3.4 lengths behind the top choice on debut. He lost a length at the start, understandably raced green but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. He would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression.
PROFESSOR LUPIN is an unraced son of Gimmethegreenlight from the Vaughan Marshall yard with Richard Fourie booked to ride. He is related to three-time winner Mirage. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.
Race 3
MIA SOPHIA moved up like a winner in her last start over this C&D, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Jazz Diva. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and in this line-up, she can go one better.
SEA OF TEARS is still a maiden after 14 starts. She showed good pace over 1000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Isn’t She Bonny. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and she is one of the leading contenders.
DADDY‘S JET was a tad disappointing in her last start. Her penultimate run when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville was encouraging. If putting her best foot forward, she is capable of winning a race of this nature.
Race 4
DIANA THE HUNTRESS produced an encouraging debut effort over 1400m on this course. She lost a length leaving the start and once finding her feet up the straight, she finished off her race well. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Futura would have come on from the run and will love the rise to 1750m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.
SACRED LILY showed improvement in her last start over 1600m on this course. She steps up to the 1750m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
NONOTI was running on when second over this C&D last time. She finished 0.6 lengths behind the second choice, three runs ago. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
Race 5
RADICCHIO‘S last three starts have been good. He raced from a handy position over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Release Me. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will be suited to the 1750m. He meets the right field and can shed his maiden tag.
SAFE SPACE ran a decent race when second to Addabar last time. He is progressive and should have no issues with the 1750m. The son of Elusive Fort is one of the leading contenders.
HIS MASTER‘S VOICE finished 1.45 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
Race 6
NOBLE CITY followed up his debut victory with a good third-place finish over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He was unlucky not to have won that day as he was held up for a run between the 400m mark and the 250m mark. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Noble Tune should be suited to the 1400m and with a bit of luck in running, he can return to winning ways.
RUNAWAY SONG returns from a 16-week break and is having his first run for the Dean Kannemeyer stable. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. He always gives of his best and if not in need of the run, he should be competitive.
GO MAN GO finished 0.2 lengths behind DANDOLO last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 7
This is a competitive Merit Rated 76 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. AGA HEAT from the Gareth van Zyl stable is the tentative first selection. She ran on from last when third over 1160m at Turffontein last time. She has won twice and finished second twice from six starts over this trip. The daughter of What A Winter takes a drop in class and with the services of 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
BONNE BOUCHE should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She should be cherry-ripe and is one of the leading contenders.
PELARGONIUM has finished third in her last two starts on the polytrack. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts on this course. The daughter of Vercingetorix will be staying on.
Race 8
ISIVUNGUVUNGU produced two very good efforts in the Western Cape before given a well-deserved 10-week break. He challenged strongly in the Grade 1 Pongracz Cape Flying Championship last time, but was outrun late. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He is the class horse in this race and should take a power of beating
LOVE IN WINTER stayed on when fifth over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He was an impressive winner of his first four career outings. The son of What A Winter has ability and is one of the leading contenders.
ISHNANA was doing his best work late when fifth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He has won once and finished second twice from five starts over this C&D. The 8yo gelding merits healthy respect.
Race 9
EL DANTE set the pace over 1750m on this course last time, but was touched off in the closing stages. He finished 0.35 lengths behind RICCARDO that day and is 3kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. He will love the return to the mile and from his good draw of two, he should be hard to peg back.
PROFESSOR SNAPE challenged strongly in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, but found one too good in the form of Intimidator. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
AURORA STORM was not beaten far by Money Heist over 1500m on this course last time. He won his maiden over this C&D. He should strip much fitter and cannot be ignored
