FABULOUS was reported to be fatigued after her last outing over 1600m. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She is the stable elect with Rachel Venniker in the saddle and if fit, she should notch up her third career victory.

GARDENIA moved up well in her last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, but was outrun late by Escapologist. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MORGAN LA FAY quickened up well when winning her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She does rise in class, but is in a good space and can follow up.

Race 3

DONTSTOPMENOW did not settle in the early stages of his last start, but the manner in which he rallied late was encouraging. This is a competitive Merit Rated 70 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is CATALEYA SUMMER from the Glen Kotzen stable. She set the pace in her last start over 1400m and kept going well to hold all challengers at bay. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. She is likely to adopt the same tactics and can follow up.

BAY BREEZE has some good recent form lines to her credit. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as her pilot dropped his crop in the closing stages. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D and merits healthy respect.

MEREDITH GREY should have finished closer to the winner last time as she had no luck in the straight. She has cracked a good draw of two and with 52.5kgs on her back, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 6

WHORLY WHORLY showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he had to be steadied at the 250m mark. Four of his eleven victories have come over this distance. He takes a drop-in class and with luck in running, he can notch up his 12th career victory.

TWOSIDESTOASTORY was running on when fourth over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He won a good race in his penultimate start over this C&D. If all went well with his travels, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

HIPPOCRATES won a good race in his last start over this C&D. He set the pace, found another kick and held all challengers at bay. If repeating that effort in this field, he should be hard to peg back.

Race 7

VOLDEMORT is better than his last start over 1400m. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He finished 0.7 lengths behind PROUD MASTER in his penultimate run. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won on this course in the past and if not in need of the run, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

PROUD MASTER is better than his last start suggests. He has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. On best form shown, he should be involved. BACK TO BLACK ran a fair race in the Listed Kings Cup last time. He drops in class and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should have a say
