Race 1

FORT LAUDERDALE has produced two good efforts since returning from a 35-week break. He showed good speed last time, but found one too good in the form of Cosmic Star. The son of The United States will be cherry-ripe and the blinkers should keep his mind on the task at hand. In this line-up, he should take a power of beating.

SOMEDAY MAYBE ran a fair race on debut over this distance on the Classic course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is carded to race on 06 April 2023 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

FOREVER FREE returns from a lengthy 38-week break which may have done him the world of good. On his best form, he can earn a cheque in this field.

Race 2

PARADISE FLOWER showed some improvement in her last start over 1600m on this course. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The daughter of Crusade has plenty of scope and in this type of field, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

MISS CHRISTMAS‘ last three starts have been fair. Her best effort has come under Tom Lukhele. She drops to the 1500m, and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

KIT KAT KATIE returns from a 13-week break which may have done her the world of good. Her penultimate run when fourth over 1600m was encouraging. She gets the services of capable workrider Wayton van Staden and can run into the placings.

Race 3

UNYIELDING has finished fourth in her last four starts. She was reported to be coughing after her last outing over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. She meets the right field and if Anathi Feni is able to switch her off early, she should be the one to beat.

PINK DIAMOND was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1800m on the Classic course. She ran a decent race when second over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course in her penultimate run. If finding the form of that race, she should be competitive.

ELUSIVE FIRE has fair recent form lines to her name. She finished 2.1 lengths behind the top choice, three runs ago. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 4

CHROME TOURMALINE produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on the Classic course. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as her pilot dropped his reins at the 200m mark. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the horse to beat in this field.

HAVE A PARTY was disappointing in her last start over 1400m at Turffontein. Her debut effort when finishing third over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course was encouraging. If finding the form of that race, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

FREEDOM SQUARE was in need of her debut effort over 1160m at Turffontein. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement.

Race 5

PEMBROKE showed improvement in his last start over 1160m at Turffontein. He was reported to be not striding out that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. The 11-week break would have done him the world of good and if not in need of the run, he should be the one to beat in this field.

CROWN PRINCE should have finished closer on debut as he stumbled leaving the start and he hung in the final 350m. The son of Captain Of All would have come on from the run and will enjoy the extra 200m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should pose a threat.

CAPTAIN TIK TOK may not have seen out the mile last time. His penultimate run when fourth over 1160m was fair. He has plenty of scope and can finish in the placings.

Race 6

ON THE GUEST LIST raced from a handy position over 2000m last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Maith An Cailin. Anathi Feni retains the ride and in this line-up, she should go one better.

IMPRESSION‘S last start can be ignored as she over raced and the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. Her penultimate run when second over this distance was encouraging. Samuel Mosia takes the ride and she is one of the leading contenders.

CILANTRO was disappointing in her last start after a fair penultimate run on the Classic course. Tshepiso Matsoele is booked to ride and she can finish in the placings.

Race 7

MANZ KNIGHT was not disgraced when fifth against winners in his last start over 2000m on the Turffontein Inside course. He finished second in his first two career efforts on this course. He returns to Maiden Company and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should be the horse to beat.

TURNTHEBEATAROUND was running on when second over 1600m at Turffontein last time. She will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

DESERT FOX ran a good race when third over this distance on the Classic course last time. He jumps from a good draw of four and with luck in running, should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

CELTIC RUSH‘S last two starts have been decent. He stayed on when third over 1600m at Turffontein last time. He meets the right field and with the services of Samuel Mosia, he should take a power of beating.

TOTAL SURRENDER is an unraced son of Flower Alley from the Lucky Houdalakis yard with Bongani Mlangeni in the saddle. He is related to seven-time winner Second Base. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

BIG FIVE is better than his last start suggests as the jockey reported something to be amiss. It must be noted that Stratospheric has come out and won again since. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should be right there
