Race 1

Eight of the twelve runners in this contest are unraced and the betting market will be the best guide with regards to their chances. THREE COINS is an unraced daughter of Gimmethegreenlight from the Justin Snaith stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She is related to three-time winner Ciao Bella. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note.

CABARET is a daughter of Oratorio from the Glen Kotzen yard with Keagan de Melo doing duty. She is related to three-time winner Miss Frankel. If not in need of this run, she should be one of the leading contenders.

PRINCESS IZZY is a daughter of Master Of My Fate and is the stable companion of the top choice. She is related to two-time winner Aurora Storm. Grant van Niekerk is booked to ride and she can earn a cheque on her debut run.

Race 2

SNOW PILOT is lightly raced with good form lines to his credit. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was switched for running room at the 400m mark. He finished third in his penultimate run over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he can shed his maiden tag in this field.

TRIPPI‘s SILK ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. He lost a length leaving the start, raced green but stayed on at the finish. The son of Trippi would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement.

NIGHT BOMBER is an unraced son of Lancaster Bomber from the Brett Crawford stable with Luyolo Mxothwa in the saddle. He is related to multiple winners including Eddie Sweat and Billy Silver. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.

Race 3

HARAJUKU was doing his best work late when finishing fourth over 1200m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Danon Platina will love the rise to the mile and with a bit of luck in running, he should be the one to beat.

OZARK has improved in his last two starts over 1400m. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to the mile. The son of Oratorio will be at peak fitness and he should go close to winning.

SUNSHINE DAY should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was cramped for galloping room at the 200m mark. The daughter of Potala Palace will be suited to the mile and should give the males a run for their money

Race 4

SPRING PALACE finished 0.75 lengths behind MY GOLLY MOLLY last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Potala Palace jumps from pole position and may be hard to peg back.

LILY OF THE NILE finished 0.5 lengths behind GREEN VALKYRIE last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. With a bit of luck in running, she should go close to winning.

ZIL MORIS won a good race in his last start over 1200m. The manner in which he drew off in the closing stages was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is a progressive type and should be competitive.

Race 5

KIMBALL O’HARA should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was cramped for galloping room in the closing stages. The son of Gimmethegreenlight takes a drop-in class and with a bit of luck in running, he can notch up his second career victory in this field.

INSIDE STORY ran a fair race over 1600m on this course last time. The drop to 1400m is a slight concern, but in this field, he cannot be ignored.

PAPER TRAIL lost 5 lengths leaving the start last time, but stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If jumping on terms, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 6

WINTER PEARL was his own worst enemy over 1200m last time as he raced without cover and over raced in the early stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He drops to the 1000m and the blinkers have been removed. Richard Fourie does duty and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

FINAL MOVE showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D. He returns from an 11-week break and if not in need of the run, he should pose a threat.

WORDSWORTH finished 0.75 lengths behind the second selection in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish

Race 7

ISLAND TREASURE finished 0.95 lengths behind PHILOSOPHISE last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. She was unlucky that day as she was held up for a run until the 200m mark. The daughter of Pomodoro has cracked pole position and she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

CLOUD CHASER followed up her maiden victory with a good third-place finish. She finished 0.3 lengths behind the top choice that day. She is 1kg worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.

PHILOSOPHISE was running on well when second over 1400m last time. Her last victory came over this distance. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and the pair will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 8

LEGAL CHITCHAT followed up his maiden victory with a good third-place finish over 1600m on this course. He stayed on nicely at the finish that day, despite losing a shoe in running. Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle and with a bit of luck in running, he should be the horse to beat.

DONDER STORM is the stable companion of the top choice. He should have finished closer to the winner over this C&D last time as he hung in the closing stages. Keagan de Melo steps into the saddle and he should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

DOUBLING UP finished 1.95 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 9

Trainer Justin Snaith holds a strong hand in this contest. NIGHT RULER stayed on at the finish over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Montien. He takes a drop-in class and can go one better.

ROYAL WATCH finished 2 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

SUDDEN SONG finished 2.7 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
