Race 1
ARE YOU SURE produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on this course. She lost two lengths leaving the start but the manner in which she finished off her race that day, caught the eye. The daughter of Futura would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.
LADYOFDISTINCTION should have finished closer on debut as she was green in running and had to be switched for running room at the 150m mark. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and should pose a massive threat.
PANTHERA UNCIA has shown improvement in her last two starts. She finished second in her penultimate run over this C&D. The daughter of Danon Platina is coming along the right way and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 2
APEX PREDATOR produced a good comeback run when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He showed good pace but found one too good in the form of Warhead. The son of New Predator would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is the horse to beat in this line-up.
IMMAH finished 0.6 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The son of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.
ROSA OSIRIA showed good improvement when second over this C&D last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. She carries a handy galloping mass of 55.5kgs and should give the males a run for their money.
Race 3
OUR LADY FATE showed very good improvement when fifth over 1200m last time. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she hung inwards throughout. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and should love the extra furlong on offer. S’manga Khumalo rides from a good draw of two and she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
IZIBULO moved up like a winner over 1600m last time but was caught late by Pink Diamond. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
WARRIOR ROYALE ran a fair race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Greyville. She would have come on from the run and should love the extra 200m on offer. There should be improvement to come.
Race 4
QONDANEKUKHANYENI has finished second in her last two starts. She raced wide around the turn last time but stayed on well at the finish. She cast a shoe in running that day which didn’t help her chances. The daughter of Global View jumps from a good draw of two and may be the one to beat under Athandiwe Mgudlwa.
SWEET REUNION showed good improvement over a mile on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of William Longsword is a progressive type and she is one of the leading contenders.
PERFECTLY PICKED finished 0.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 5
ZAKHO lost a length leaving the start over 1900m on the polytrack last time and stayed on to finish fourth. The son of Silvano finished third in his only attempt on this course. He jumps from pole position and with the services of Rachel Venniker, he should notch up his fourth-career victory.
CYBER TIME stayed on when fifth over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. Two of his five career victories have come on this course. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
WOODLAND GLADE has good recent form lines to her credit. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts on this course. The daughter of Flower Alley should love the rise to 2400m and she should give the males a run for their money.
Race 6
This is a weak Merit Rated 68 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is KIMBALL O’HARA from the Mike Miller stable. He stayed on when fifth over 1400m on the Polytrack last time. He is having his peak run and should be cherry-ripe. The son of Gimmethegreenlight won his penultimate start against similar company and is the one to beat.
COUNT MARSH is better than his last start suggests. Two of his four career victories have come over this distance. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo steps back into the saddle and he can return to best form.
PONGOLA is better than his last start as he raced with his tongue over the bit. The 10-week break may have done him the world of good and if not in need of the run, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 7
BOURBON WARRIOR is better than his last start in the Grade 2 @Worldpool Twitter Umkhomazi Stakes. He was an easy winner on debut over this C&D. The son of Potala Palace clearly has ability and if getting away to a clean start under S’manga Khumalo, he can win a race of this nature.
USA’S HOPE has been disappointing in his last three starts. He has won twice, finished second twice and third three times from ten starts over this distance. On best form shown, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
LET THE FLAG FLY showed good improvement when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Sean Veale retains the ride and he should be right there at the finish.
Race 8
WAR EMPRESS showed good speed when winning her last start over this C&D. She has won once, finished second twice and third twice from six starts over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix takes a drop in class and can follow up with another victory.
RUGGER LOVER is better than her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. On her previous form, she should pose a massive threat.
TARA STAR is lightly raced with some good form lines to her credit. She returns from a long 31-week break. The daughter of Just As Well has ability and if not in need of the run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest
